"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."  (Matthew 7:7)

First United Methodist Church of Bedford ministers not only to hearts, but also to minds.  We broaden our understanding of God through prayer and Bible study.  Methodists have a passionate faith with strong convictions, but we also recognize that the world is not always black and white.  We are willing to ask questions, to wrestle with difficult issues, and to do so with grace and compassion.  We value the intellect and modern science, while at the same time looking to the Bible as the authoritative guide for faith and practice.  All our teaching is scripturally based and proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ.  From its very beginnings, Methodists have believed in the power of small groups to study and grow as Christian believers.  There are many such venues for learning and teaching, including:

  • Nursery
  • Children's Sunday morning classes
  • Youth classes and youth group for middle and senior high school students
  • Adult classes for a variety of ages and interest
  • Bible studies, include online studies streamed through the Internet
  • Ladies Circle Groups
  • Sermon podcasts
